What is a Bingo Challenge?

A Bingo challenge/fandom fest typically refers to any challenge modelled after the original Kink Bingo, where themed cards are generated and handed over to participants who fill the squares out for points.

What is the MINSUNG Trope Bingo?

This is a LOW PRESSURE multimedia fanwork challenge that centers around Stray Kids’ Han & Lee Know. Bingo cards are generated based on a trope list, and throughout the event duration, participants are free to loosely interpret the tropes as they see fit, and create fan-content (fanfiction, fanart, etc.) based on their cards, as long as said content feature Han & Lee Know.

      HOW DOES ONE PARTICIPATE?

      • Request A Card

      • Start filling card squares by creating content* inspired by tropes on your card. Be creative and go ham!

      • Post your fill and remember to tag @minsungmod

      • Once you’re done with a card, FILL OUT THE FINISHED CARD FORM so you can earn points and BINGO!

      • Rinse, repeat and ask for a new card.

      * content creation = writing fic, illustrating art, etc.


      WHAT CONTENT IS ALLOWED?

      ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING! Well, more or less. We encourage all forms content, from fanfiction to all kinds of fanart. We accept social media AUs, threaded stories, illustrations, comics, video edits, etc. If you have an idea for output not mentioned here, just ask us. It's very likely that we will say yes. All ratings are also allowed.HOWEVER, as with all of our events, we do not allow submissions involving a graphic depiction and/or the romanticization of any of the following themes: rape, pedophilia, incest, CSAM. There are other events for these kinds of content.


      WHAT PLATFORMS DO WE USE?

      THIS EVENT IS MAINLY TWITTER BASED, in that all announcements and promotions will be made on Twitter. All participating works are encouraged to be advertised and promoted on Twitter. That said, we understand that a number of people have left the platform since we last held this event, and so we now OFFER AN ALTERNATIVE WITH BLUESKY. Make sure to always mention us on either platform so we can repost your entries.

      A NOTION LIST WITH ALL ENTRIES WILL BE PROVIDED (and hopefully) KEPT UPDATED. This will be based on 1) what we’ve been tagged with on Twitter, Bluesky; 2) what has been submitted to the AO3 collection, and 3) links that have been submitted through the finished card form. If you are posting your work elsewhere, please let us know through e-mail.


      Important Points to Note:

      • Fiction fills must at least be drabble (100 words) length. If you're posting on AO3, please submit to our AO3 Collection. You may also post shorter fills on Twitter if you wish to.

      • For art/multimedia fills, you are free to post on any host.

      • Every time you're done with a fill, tweet a link to your work! Remember to tag our account @minsungbingo, so that we can advertise your work. Please also be reminded to mention what trope you're filling somewhere in the caption.

      • Once you're done with a card, DO NOT FORGET TO SEND IN THE FINISHED CARD FORM. Your points will only be tallied every time you send in your finished card!

      • Please note that all fills must be NEW in that they have never before been posted anywhere else before the event. That said, you are allowed to use content you are creating for other challenges, as long as they have not yet been posted anywhere else prior to the duration of this event, and as long as the other event/challenge allows it.

      FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

      How do bingo cards work?
      Each participant receives a bingo card with 24 (with one free box) randomly generated tropes from this list. Participants are free to check off boxes however they see fit.

      How do I ‘fill’ a square?
      You simply create content featuring Han and Lee Know that is inspired by whatever trope is listed in the square. Content creators are required to use at least one trope per fill, but are more than allowed to combine different tropes together to produce a singular, more expansive work.

      What is the FREE SPACE on my card?
      The free space at the center of the card means you can fill any trope of your choice from the list that is not available elsewhere on your card.

      Can we get multiple cards?
      Yes, but you can only request your next card after you've managed to form one five-square pattern, or you've filled at least seven (7) random squares on your card. You can call a total of one (1) free card discard (where you trash your current unfilled card* to request a new one) throughout the event.

      * you do not earn points for this card; points for any fill you made for the card, if any, will be forfeit.

      What kind of fan content is allowed?
      Fiction, poetry, social media AUs, illustrations, digital edits, playlists, etc. Anything goes as long as it's centered around Stray Kids’ Han & Lee Know, and is aptly inspired by tropes on their cards, content creators are free to go wild!

      What are minimum fill requirements?
      For fiction, each fill must be at least 100 words in length. For other media, as long as the trope being filled is expressed clearly and undeniably, it's allowable.

      What are the trope categories for?
      When you fill out a card request form, you're free to choose which types of tropes you want to work with. The purpose of this is so that people working with different mediums can choose which kinds of tropes work better for the kind of content they're creating. Note, however, that the more varied your card is (i.e. if you check all boxes on your request form), the higher points you earn.

      When, How & Where do we post?

      • You are allowed to post any time while the challenge is ongoing!

      • For fanfiction authors, simply post to our AO3 Collection.

      • If you're doing your fills in the form of short drabbles or threads on twitter or bluesky, please tag our account.

      • For fan artists (and other types of content creators) simply post a link to your work on twitter or bluesky, and tag our account.; @minsungmod

      • Every time you're done with a card, please proceed to fill out the Finished Card Form so we can add points to your tally!

      FICATHON COLLABORATION

      To encourage filling the rest of what’s left of the MINSUNG FICATHON prompts, extra points (+10 on your card for every prompt filled) will be awarded if you take one of the leftover prompts and write it for Bingo.Prompts cannot be claimed ahead of time, so there are chances that more than one writer might work on the same prompt.Prompts will be crossed out after the first person submits/publishes fic based on the prompt BUT if someone has already begun fic based on the prompt, they're still allowed to post/submit their own version.

      How are points earned?

      • Each filled bingo square = 1pt

      • Every trope category when requesting a card = +2pts (bonus: total if all 6 categories checked = +15pts)

      • Five-square patterns (vertical/horizontal/diagonal lines) = +5pts

      • Cross/X/Small Box Bingo = +10pts

      • Border Bingo = +20pts

      • Blackout Bingo (ALL SQUARES) = x2.5 pts

      • Adopt a Ficathon Prompt = +10pts

      What do we get for our points?
      Truthfully… nothing but the joy and satisfaction of earning points and the knowledge that you've helped create content that fans of Han & Lee Know will love and enjoy! Finishing the challenge is it's own reward! 😅 That said, for the ones who might have a bit of a competitive streak in them, points will be tallied at the end of the event, and the top 3 point earners will be announced!
